MEET THE TRAINERS

Crystal Mcclaran

Crystal Mcclaran was born in Cape Coral, Florida where she graduated from Mariner High School. Crystal has had a passion for animals since she was a young child. She began riding and showing horses at the age 6 and owned her first horse at 8yrs old. Crystal started professionally training horses at the young age of 15, traveling the United States. After college in 2002 Crystal moved to Hilton Head South Carolina where she was the Head Trainer of Castle Hills Farm a World Renown training facility for breeding and training American Saddlebred Horses. On her spare time Crystal set out on the mission of helping her favorite breed of dog the highly misunderstood “Pitbull”.

She founded and operated a Bully Breed rescue in late 2002 named RecycleBull’s, where she rescued, rehabilitated and trained over 200 Pitbull type dogs. Crystal is a softy for animals so Recyclebull’s was often taking in other breeds such as Hounds, Spaniels, Retrievers and various other types. As the rescue grew in success Crystal began training at other local shelters helping with the difficult breeds that are not as likely to be adopted. She would train shelter dogs to be scholars, enhancing their chances of adoption. As time went on she continued her horse training but also found a successful second career in dog training. Helping people understand dog behavior and correcting unwanted behaviors Crystal moved back to Florida in late 2011 to be closer to family and get back to her Floridian roots.

She has opened up a small rescue named Bo Nose Rescue in Cape Coral. The dogs are housed at Pet Coral until they find their forever homes. All the rescue dogs come from death row at high kill animal shelters.

Crystal has become very involved with the fastest growing Canine Aquatic Sport, Dock Diving. She is a certified Judge, World Wide Member and competes at a national level. Crystal competes with her dogs Bo a Walker Hound/Doberman mix, Grits a Yellow Lab and Timber a Belgian Malinois/German Shepherd mix. Crystal also has a Bassett Hound named Suede, two Pitbulls Dice and Meatball and a Catahoula Annie. Bo has become a World Champion Dog, winning the 2013 Dock Dogs World Championships. He is the #1 Iron Dog and Extreme Vertical Dog in the World. Bo and Crystal hold the current Iron Dog World Record.
